There’s an old adage in photography that says you don’t need to travel far to find a photograph. This one is from a corner in our garden. The bird bath belonged to a man called Bernard who lived in our village. Bernard lived here all his life until he passed away earlier this year. Before his house was sold we asked if we could take the bird bath from his garden and place it in a rose garden at the village hall that he had funded for his wife, Mavis, when she passed away. Bernard and Mavis were gardeners and used to have a fine display of flowers every year at the front of their house. As they lived in the first house when you came into the village it made for a beautiful welcome.
